Good organisation might help you avoid the cashflow pitfalls

By knowing when your tax and accounting deadlines are due you can plan to have monies in place in order to avoid ‘nasty surprises’ on the cashflow front.  If you require assistance from your accountant in order to meet any deadlines then he/she needs reasonable notification of this in order to ensure they can meet your expectation and do their best to support you.

Being organised and having ‘tidy’ records makes all these things easier to handle as you will be aware of approaching deadlines and can organise:

  • your workload and
  • your cashflow

In this electronic age when many forms (VAT returns, PAYE forms etc) are filed online you do not receive paper reminders and if the deadline is missed you are probably only aware when you receive:

  • an assessment or
  • a fine/notification

Moore and Smalley can provide clients with a personalised deadline planner showing their deadline dates, just ask for this to be created when your adviser in in contact next.

Organisation is key if you are to make sure that you file the necessary paperwork, and pay any liabilities, on time.  Get into the habit of following Liz’s top tips (see her blog dated 21 August) and Adam’s tidy files (see his blog from the 11th of June) and you will reap the benefits in terms of time and peace of mind.
