Moore and Smalley
Karen Hain
Professional: Karen joined the firm in 1990 and qualified shortly thereafter as a chartered accountant. She has spent a number of years managing clients in the general corporate department both in accounts and audit services. Karen currently heads up our internal audit team dealing with clients in the education sector and private sector businesses.
Karen heads up the Professional Practices department and has developed a designated team to deliver a high quality service to professional services providers. In addition to her substantial experience of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR), and advising practices on improving profitability, Karen is also a qualified Lexcel consultant and as such can advise law firms on what they need to do to achieve the Law Society's quality standard.
Karen also heads up the Professional Practices team for MHA, an association of nine independent accountancy firms across the UK who collectively look after over 158 legal firms and over 500 partners.
Karen is also a regular presenter for the Law Society and provides advice on a number of issues, including; managing the modern law firm, profitability and cash flow, as well as Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Personal: At weekends Karen enjoys spending time with her friends and family and is a keen member of the Moore and Smalley Netball team.
