Academies Accounts Direction 2017

July 12, 2017

Type: Academy Schools Videos, MHA Moore and Smalley TV

The Academies Accounts Direction (AAD) provides ‘detailed guidance for academy trusts and auditors on preparing and auditing academy trusts’ annual financial statements’.

To produce the Accounts Direction, the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) takes the requirements set out by the Charity Commission in its Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) and translates them into a form applicable to academy trusts.

As in previous years there haven’t been any wholescale changes to the Accounts Direction, focusing more specifically on changes to disclosures and some of the guidance and also clarifying the treatment of church land and buildings.

In our latest video for the sector, we look at the changes to the Academies Accounts Direction and explain some of the key changes in more detail.
