£382 raised for CancerCare at Moore and Smalley quiz night

LANCASTER professionals added their support to CancerCare’s silver jubilee appeal at an event organised by a local firm of accountants.

Moore and Smalley Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, which has a long standing relationship with CancerCare, organised a quiz night in the charity’s honour to help raise crucial funds for its ongoing work.

13 teams from across Lancaster’s business community competed to take the quiz team winners crown at the event, which was held at Cafe Bar Eleven earlier this month.

After a gruelling two rounds HSBC were proclaimed winners by quiz master and Moore and Smalley’s financial planning partner, Graham Gordon.

Graham Gordon said: “CancerCare, it’s staff and it’s volunteers help hundreds of members of Lancaster’s community to deal with what is a harrowing illness everyday. We at Moore and Smalley are delighted to support such a worthwhile cause in what is it’s silver jubilee year.”

Peter Hearne, general manager of CancerCare, said: “CancerCare relies on donations from the community and I would like to thank Moore and Smalley for organising this event in our honour.”
