LANCASHIRE Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, Moore and Smalley, has extended its support of one of the county’s top cricket leagues after sponsoring another award.
The firm, based on Winckley Square, Preston, is now sponsoring the Palace Shield’s team of the month award for the 2008 season, which started in April.
Moore and Smalley already backs the player of the month award and has been the main sponsor of the Palace Shield since 1992.
Last year the firm also took on the sole sponsorship of the league’s three cup competitions, the Meyler Cup, Loxham Cup and Crabtree Cup.
David Crabtree, chairman of the Palace Shield, said: “This is great news for the Palace Shield and everyone involved in the league. Moore and Smalley has played a major part in supporting and developing the league over the years and we are extremely grateful for their ongoing commitment and for taking on the sponsorship of the team of the month award.”
Besides sponsoring the Palace Shield for the last 16 years, the firm also acts as the league’s auditors.
Damian Walmsley, a partner at Moore and Smalley, added: “Moore and Smalley is committed to giving something back to the community and we had no hesitation in extending our backing of the Palace Shield. Teamwork plays an essential part in successful businesses, so it is fitting that we started sponsoring the team of the month award as well.
“The firm has a long history of sponsoring the Palace Shield, which involves a large number of our clients and staff, and we look forward to continuing our support of one of Lancashire’s top cricket leagues.”
