Working at Moore and Smalley
Pay and Benefits
Moore and Smalley offer a highly competitive reward package as we believe in rewarding talented individuals. Our standard remuneration package includes an excellent salary, a contributory pension scheme, and private medical insurance, along with our innovative flexible benefits scheme.
Flexible Benefits
In addition to the reward package, Moore and Smalley offer a flexible benefits scheme to all staff that allows staff to do the following:
- Buy and sell holidays
- Flex pension contributions
- Purchase health screening and dental insurance
- Purchase discounted childcare vouchers
Career Opportunities, Training and Development
We provide comprehensive study support, including exam fees, study leave and support on the job.
This can be through a formal appraisal process or simply a partner spending a lunch hour with a member of staff to help them with a study problem.
Trainees are provided with training in feedback skills so that they can support more junior members of staff.
Partners and senior managers are currently undergoing formal coaching and mentoring training to further develop their skills in this area.
The ACCA recently awarded the firm Platinum status for its commitment to training and development.
Work Life Balance
We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly employer, offering options such as flexible working and working from home. The ability to buy additional holidays through our flexible benefits scheme is also popular amongst parents.
Social Aspects
Moore and Smalley also has an active Social Club, with events taking place on a regular basis. Members of the club receive discounts and subsidies.
Working in Preston
Preston was granted city status in 2001, becoming England's 50th city. The commercial, administrative and cultural capital of Lancashire, Preston has a rich history and heritage, dating back to the 12th century.
Today, the city is home to a modern shopping centre, the Harris Museum, the National Football Museum, and the Guildhall (home of the UK Snooker Championships).
Preston is surrounded by breathtaking countryside, with the Ribble Valley, Forest of Bowland and of course the Lake District all within a short journey of the city centre. If you prefer the city to the country, then the direct rail link to Liverpool and Manchester means they are less than an hour away by train.
Working in Lancaster
Lancaster is a vibrant university city rich in cultural heritage. Lancaster's history can be traced back thousands of years and it has so much to offer, from castles and museums, where Lancaster's past comes to life, to great shopping, entertaining theatre, traditional pubs and modern eateries.
Our Lancaster office, situated by the historic Lancaster Castle and Lancaster Priory is just a 5 minute walk from the train station and a 3 minute walk from the heart of the city centre.
Working in Kendal
Kendal is an old market town situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the county - the English Lake District. Kendal is also within 30 minutes drive of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, making it a perfect base for walkers and sightseers alike. The town's unique blend of history, culture and shopping make it a very popular destination for visitors.
Our Kendal office is situated on a business park 2 miles outside the town centre and within a 15 minute walk from Oxenholme train station.
Working in Blackpool
Since Victorian times Blackpool has been the holiday centre for the north of England and is home to the famous Blackpool Tower, Annual Illuminations and the Pleasure Beach.
Our modern, purpose built offices are situated outside the town centre very close to Blackpool Airport and they are a short drive from the town centre.
Although famous as Britain’s most popular resort, the teams at the office look after clients from a wide range of industry sectors, not just hotel and tourism. In particular, the Blackpool office has a strong team dedicated to the medical sector.
