Knowledge is Power - This event is specifically for businesses in the digital and creative sector.  It is being held at the Storey Creative Industries Centre in Lancaster on 11 March 2010, start time 12.00pm.  It will give local businesses an opportunity to meet and put their questions to specialist advisors to the sector.  Representatives from Creative Lancashire, Business Link, North West Vision & Media, Moore and Smalley Digital & Creative team, Lancaster University's InfoLab21 and Jobling and Knape Solicitors will be on hand to advise on issues such as intellectual property rights, raising finance, claiming research and development tax credits, business growth, business structures and innovation vouchers. 2010

Key to Success - On the 9 March 2010 we held a free seminar for hotel owners and managers at Windermere Yacht Club. This seminar brought together specialists who understand the current hotel economic environment, they provided an outlook for the sector in 2010 and gave useful tips and advice on business planning, saving tax and maximising profitability to 50 delegates.

Free GP Seminar - In March we teamed up with George Davies Solicitors and Royal Bank of Scotland and organised a fantastic free seminar, focusing on the issues facing GPs when retiring from partnerships. The seminar was held at the Farington Lodge in Preston on Wednesday 3rd March.

Cumbrian Tourism Roundtable Event - we held a roundtable event in Kendal on 3 February bringing several regional tourism representatives together to discuss the current and future issues affecting the sector including how the North West can build on the relative success of 2009, the impact of the devastating floods in November 2009 and the prospects for 2010 and beyond.  Read more

Charity Quiz Night in Lancaster - 27 January 2010, at he Dukes Theatre.  Teams from local businesses put their general knowledge to the test in fun evening which rasied over £500 for cancer charities.

Property & Enterprise Forum - On the 28 January, Stewart Case made a presentation at this event which looked at how businesses in the property sector can prepare for the upturn as we come out of the recession.

2009

Care Home Round Table - We held an event specifically for the care home sector on 25 November 2009. The event focused on the impact of the recession on funding and the need to diversify.

Moore and Smalley Palace Shield Cricket Dinner - This years awards dinner was held at Ribby Hall on Friday 6 November 2009.

Charity Update Seminar - On 24 September 2009 Moore and Smalley held a charity seminar in our Lancaster office updating clients and contacts of the latest developments within the sector. 

Charity Quiz Night in Kendal - 22 September 2009

Bank of England Presentation - On 15 September 2009 John Young from the Bank of England presented at the Kendal Office on the current state of the economy. 

Care Home Roundtable Event - Several regional care home representatives were brought together on 17 June 2009 to discuss the current and future issues affecting the sector.

Cumbrian Tourism Roundtable Event - Moore and Smalley held an event on 13 May 2009 bringing several regional tourism representatives together to discuss the current and future issues affecting the sector.
