Current vacancies

AAT TRAINEES (ASSOCIATION OF ACCOUNTING TECHNICIANS)

The firm has opportunities for numerate and articulate A-Level students to train as qualified accountants.

Trainees will undertake audit and accounting assignments, working on a wide range of client businesses, combining the demands of a full time role and studying for the AAT qualification. They will learn how to prepare accounts, draft tax computations and conduct audit work through a planned programme of on the job experience. Trainees benefit from a fully funded study package and are guided through their training by a qualified student mentor.

Upon successful completion of the AAT examinations, there may be further opportunities to fast-track through to the ICAEW examinations.

The successful applicants will need to have:
• A minimum of 8 GCSE’s including Grade A Maths and English.
• Completed A-Level studies in time for either September ’08 intake.
• An aptitude for figures and an interest in business and commerce.
• The commitment to study for professional examinations

To succeed, you will need to be confident, have well-developed interpersonal skills and be prepared to work hard. An A-Level in Accounting would be desirable, but not essential.

To apply, fill out our application form, and return to Jo Wootten, HR Department, Moore and Smalley LLP, Richard House, 9 Winckley Square, Preston, PR1 3HP, or e-mail completed forms to careers@mooreandsmalley.co.uk.
